Description:
Gentiana septemfida var. lagodechiana "Bella Alpinella' is a summer gentian that is a true blue sensation. Tidy, low-growing, compact plants produce upright stems holding a fantastic visual display of masses of trumpet-like, sapphire blue flowers from midsummer to early fall. Deadheading encourages more blooming. Tolerates full sun to part shade in well-drained, peaty, acidic soil. A choice addition to rock gardens, front border displays, and special containers.
