Description:
Allium cepa 'Red Karmen' is a versatile and delicious gourmet onion used in a variety of dishes all over the world. This cultivar has large, globe-shaped bulbs with dark red paper skins and white flesh with red rings inside. Ideally suited consuming in its raw state due to its sweetness with just a hint of spice, awesome colour and crunch. Plant in spring for a late summer harvest. Stop watering in August and harvest when tops have wilted and turned brown. Consume immediately throughout the season or cure for storage.
