Description:
Acer campestre is a tough and adaptable species from Europe that grows into a small rounded tree. Its variegated cultivar 'Carnival' makes a stunning specimen in container or garden with small, deeply dissected, blue-green leaves flushed pink when young expanding to reveal variable creamy white edges to dramatic effect. Fall foliage is light yellow with white margins. Slow-growing. Grow in sun to part shade but best to avoid hot afternoon sun. More often listed as hardy to zone 5 but some sources suggest zone 4.
