Rhododendron 'Nancy Evans' has orange-red buds open to yellow hose-in-hose blossoms in mid-season. Flower openly funnel-shaped, wavy lobes, 2½" across, light yellow with some early orange shading on lobes and reverse, hose-in-hose. Ball-shaped trusses hold 19 flowers. A wonderful compact grower that always sets buds as a young plant. New growth is a colorful bronze.
