Anemone quinquefolia
Common Name: Wood Anemone Family: Ranunculaceae (The Buttercup Family)

Notes:
Anemone quinquefolia is an eastern North American native forest groundcover closely related to the European A. nemorosa which is beloved in spring gardens. Wood anemone spreads quickly by rhizomes into seasonal mats of three to five part foliage topped with five-petaled white flowers that can flush pink with age. Plants will go entirely dormant by spring. Grow amongst later-emerging perennials such as ferns and hostas and under deciduous shrubs and trees. Photo: Wikipedia.
