Achlys triphylla
Common Name: Vanilla Leaf Family: Berberidaceae (The Barberry Family)

Notes:
Achlys triphylla is a hardy three-leaved groundcover noted for the vanilla scent of the dried leaves and fragrant, creamy white, pipe-cleaner shaped flower spikes which are attractive to butterflies, bees and hummingbirds. They like soil rich in humus and are found in forest/woodland locations and along the edges.

Moist to mesic open or closed forests in the lowland and montane zones.
